Sensei Jenny trains in Wales August 2013

Sunday, September 1, 2013

I recently travelled to the UK to attend the Annual British Kyokushin Karate Camp, prior to the camp I trained with Shihan Janine Davies in Wales to get pointers to assist with the Australian IFK Kyokushin team’s preparation for the 4th IFK Kata World Championships to be held in Belgium 2014.

During the trip Shihan Alan Davies from Mountain Ash dojo agreed to host a mini Kata Tournament for my benefit. Pictured below are some of the students from Mountain Ash Dojo Wales. Thank you so much to all at Mountain Ash Dojo you were all so friendly and welcoming, I had a great time in Wales. Osu!

Pictured below are the adults at the annual BKK Camp, this was my 4th time to the BKK camp in as many years and I thoroughly enjoy it, I think the camp just seems to get better every year. It is an opportunity to train with some really talented Karateka and to be taught by some of the best.

Osu & thank you again to Hanshi Steve Arneil who is truly inspiring, Shihan David, Shihan Nick, Shihan Liam & Shihan Alex. Osu!

AMAC Sydney Round 3 Sunday 28th July 2013

Friday, August 2, 2013

We had some fun at round 3 AMAC held in Sydney, this was in preparation for the upcoming 4th IFK World Kata Championships to be held in Belgium March 2014.

Whilst it wasn’t a tournament run along IFK Kata rules it gave us competition pressure and experience.

We had Team Jenny, Team Shah and Team Marcel, which finished 4th, 3rd and 1st respectively. Then in the individual Advanced / Black Belt division Sensei Shah came 3rd and I came 2nd. Then in the veterans (over 35years) I came 2nd. It was good fun getting up, but I must admit I really like the team kata, very challenging. OSU! Pictured below Sensei Shah, myself, Senpai Marcel, Senpai Shigemi and Shihan Doug.
