I had a great day today, even though I only managed to attend the second day of the two day seminar event, thank you Sensei Daniel Trifu from Australian Kyokushin Federation (AKF) for inviting me to the event it was a day well spent. Working with both Lukas Kubilius and Viktorija Kubiliene from Lithuania Shinkyokushin they are both skilled and talented Karateka, OSU!
The IFKKA had 14 students entered at this event 2 from Tempe Dojo and 12 from KKC Karate Dojo Five Dock, pictured below. Well done to you all we had some great results with Nicholas Debelja coming 1st in Kata, 2nd in Points Sparring and 3rd in Semi Contact Sparring. Kyle Tran 2nd in kata, Keagan Tran 3rd in Semi Contact Sparring, Robbie Simmons coming 1st in Full Contact Sparring, Anastacia Morcos 1st Point Sparring and Jonathan Fabi 3rd in Kata Gabriel Fabi 2nd in Point Sparring and 1st Semi Contact Sparring. Natalie Ilievska 3rd Full Contact Sparring, Daniel Ilievski 1st in Semi Contact Sparring and 2nd in Full Contact Sparring. With KKC Karate Dojo coming 5th overall among the dojos.
For those who didn’t place well done as just taking part is so important to your martial arts development, I am always so proud when I watch the students from KKC and the IFKKA compete. Well done to you all OSU! Click here to view photos.
KKC Karate Five Dock had 2 students entered in the Shinkyokushin Western Sydney Tournament Robbie Simmons and Nisha Hewitt who both won their divisions. They both did really well congratulations and well done. And thank you to our friends at Shinkyokushin for making us feel welcome at your event.

We have been invited to attend a karate seminar with Lukas Kubilius who is a top Shinkyokushin fighter and the Lithuanian National Karate Contact Coach for Shinkyokushin under 16 & 18year olds. Lithuania was the most successful country at the last Shinkyokushin World Cup, their youth program is the main reason for their success.
This seminar would be great for all students and in particular if you are an aspiring contact fighter of any age and this is a highly recommended event.
Cost: $50 for one day seminar or $80 for both days.
