Sunday 17th April was round 1 of the IFKKA Interclub Championships for our organisation. It was a great day in the new Petersham Dojo with 40 entries from the IFKKA Sydney schools and 20 of these from KKC Five Dock (pictured). KKC students performed really well at the tournament with some stand out personal best performances by some students and with others overcoming nerves to be in their first tournament, as an instructor I am both proud and pleased with how all of the students from KKC performed on the day as you all did your dojo and yourselves proud. |
Competition is great to help develop your karate skills but not everyone can be winners, I was very happy with the level of competition from KKC Students as you all did very well and you will learn from your experience. Congratulations to all students who won or placed in their events. The points were close in both Kumite and Kata with some of you only missing out on a place in Kata by 0.02 of a point. I would also like to thank those who assisted in the set-up, running and pack up on the day. Results and photos will be posted on our website.

Great news Robbie Simmons (pictured) from KKC Five Dock has been selected for the team to represent the IFKKA at the upcoming IFK 3rd World Junior Championships to be held in the UK. This is a big honour and a fabulous opportunity for Robbie; he will be working hard over the coming weeks to prepare for this trip. Join with me in wishing Robbie all the best. To assist Robbie and all of the IFKKA team members financially we need to raise as much money as we can through ticket sales in the current raffle. This raffle will be drawn on Sunday 1st May at our IFKKA 9th Annual Tournament. All books are to be returned to me at KKC dojo by Saturday 30th April. |
